Abstract
The goal of this study is to evaluate access to infrastructure and some socio-economic conditions in the favelas benefited by the Rio de Janeiro's Popular Settlements Urbanization Program – PROAP-RIO (1st phase), through the Favela-Bairro component, based on data from the 1991 and 2000 IBGE Demographic Censuses. This comparison is an integral part of the Program's Monitoring and Evaluation system.
