Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or PDF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text has between 4000 to 10000 words, and a bibliography. There is consistency in the numbering of topics and bibliographic citations. All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

For the initial submission, articles (in Portuguese, English, or Spanish) must include an abstract of up to 100 words, a main text of 4000 to 10000 words, and a bibliography. Articles may be uploaded  in the journal's format, but submissions will be accepted in any format, as long as there is consistency in the numbering of topics and bibliographic citations (using the “your paper, your way” system). In special cases, and upon prior consultation with the Editorial Board, shorter or longer articles may be considered for review.

After the submission of the initial version, the article will be anonymously and independently evaluated by two (or more) specialists, who will issue a recommendation for its publication, revision, or rejection.

If the reviewers issue a favorable opinion (with or without revisions), the author(s) will be responsible for formatting the final version according to the standard provided by the Editorial Board. Article templates may be obtained in both .docx or LaTeX formats:

Following this, the text editing process will begin, including a final review by the Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editor, and the final composition for publication in the system with the assignment of a DOI.
